Water is "tubig" to us. Davao City is lucky because it supposedly has abundant quality water. But these recent days, there were reports that the water from the much-touted Davao City's aquifer has dwindled so much as observed by residents living on top of the aquifer area in Toril.

Many residents in this area rely on their respective artesian wells that flow 24/7 since time immemorial. Now there are wells in some areas that no longer give off water as they used to be indicating that the underground aquifer is in distress resulting from continued environmental abuses within the area that is supposed to be one of the protected zones of the city.
