Typhoon 2010

Oil price increase greeted us as we welcome the new year. And noone is happy with the news. For one, the transport sector wanted another fare hike. These two factors will send basic commodities' prices to rise anew. Naturally, at the receiving end would be the consumers or the poor ones for that matter.

Despite the pronouncements of the government agency like the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) that they are monitoring the prices of basic goods, this is not helping the situation since the market in our opinion has its own mind and decides on their own. In fact, as we all know since time immemorial the market is always affected by the movement of oil price hike or the fare increase.
