Congrats to all our New Nurses!

Congratulations to all new nurses who must be jumping for joy now with the results of the November 2009 Nursing Board Exam that the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released today.

We have reasons to celebrate. My first cousins Philip James Zamora and Joan Pearl Zamora and niece (wife side) Jessa Caymo Empis are among the successful examinees.

The passing rate this time is 39.73%, lower than the previous passing result of 42%. This means that there were only about 37, 527 passers of the 94,462 takers.

All sacrifices paid off really or at least they are on the very doors of their respective dreams. I recall how my Uncle James went that far posting written reminders on their wall and in their room about the opportunity open to them and that they should study hard for their future. There is no second chance, the reminders on the wall stressed. That's funny but that really served a constant reminder that they should not take chance and in the process waste hard-earned money and time.

Same with Jessa's parents constantly reminded her to strive hard. That reminder never failed to be reechoed during family gatherings.

I anticipated a positive result for both Philip James and Joan Pearl, both are my first cousin Josephine Lupian's children that they will make it "take one". I/We am/are proud that they were able to make it despite the migraine headaches Manang Josephine who constantly complaint about the pain and of course not to discount Manong James's hardwork. Congratulations!
