Economy not Politics?

So much doubt has been cast on Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's declaration that she is no longer interested in May 2010 race. But saying so does not mean she is not interested to remain in power. Seeking for reelection is not the only way for her to stay in power. In fact, some view the charter change move her political allies are doing in the Congress is a sign a maneuver that will benefit no other than GMA herself.

Anyways. In preparation for the upcoming May 2010 presidential election, many quarters and civil groups are already trying to endorse some personalities to run for the two top posts in the country on the basis that these personalities possess good qualities. Sadly, good qualities are not what candidates need to win but well-oiled political machinery, fortune to spend, and immense popularity. Add to these are guns and goons like what traditional politicians were doing in the past elections. Without those requirements, your vision will surely fail, an exercise in futility.
